I think Leslie Howard was an excellent choice for the role of the Scarlet Pimpernel. He exudes the two roles so perfectly, that you don't know WHO you should cheer for, until he shows his real propose. Every time I have seen the Movie, i find something "New " about the plot, or the actors. The Title is very aptly applied to this Wonderfull Thriller, now let's do a sequel, and keep the story going.
