I don't remember the sect, but I'll never forget the clothes, the hats! One thing that surprised me about the area is that it's a magnet for overseas visitors from Britain. We met a number of pilgrims who flew from London directly to Memphis to walk in Elvis's footsteps. Even though most had never been in the States before, they didn't bother with New York City or Washington DC . . . but Tupelo was definitely on their travel agenda. I made plans to watch some or all of those movies - but never got around to it. I have seen the movies he did before he went in the army - almost universally claimed as his best film work - but have only seen Kissin' Cousins - and that was a TV viewing because I was waiting for some old horror movie that was going to play after it and ended up watching Elvis first. I do plan to see those other movies - good or bad - I like to see how someone fares across several movies and years.

Memphis seems like a very fun town - I've never been there, although I make a driving jaunt through Nashville every year on the way to Illinois to see my father. Your trip sounds fun - and I'm thinking my wife and I might enjoy a trip there one of these days!Craig Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037542638067599437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070623657970000135.post-25635033687527029592012-08-17T23:45:19.055-07:002012-08-17T23:45:19.055-07:00So glad to hear from you!
