Complementing the Skirball's "Light & Noir" is an offering at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art titled "Haunted Screens: German Cinema of the 1920s." Stills, posters, and film clips of Expressionist masterpieces like "Metropolis" and "The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari" gave me a chance to re-experience the backgrouind of the talented emigres featured at the Skirball. <br />Beverlyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15515783219367479399noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070623657970000135.post-63441118640582153222015-02-24T06:05:32.513-08:002015-02-24T06:05:32.513-08:00So much for America's open arms - better dead ...So much for America's open arms - better dead than Red, after all. What a crazy span of years. I love that so many people were able to escape the nonsense over there and bring their considerable talents to our shores - but lament that they were then chased away in many cases over paranoia and stupidity. I'd love to attend that exhibit. Craig Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037542638067599437noreply@blogger.com
