Which for me The Blair Witch Project never really had. However, if I were to watch one - the odds are not bad that Mr. W's Bare Wench Project would be the one. Ha.

If you found Blair Witch boring Paranormal Activity may not work any better - same found footage format, same small cast, same little-on-screen-but-more-sounds-offscreen action. But the thought of malevolent unseen entities creeping up on you as you sleep - well, that works for me!Craig Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037542638067599437noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3070623657970000135.post-47105960344430041352012-10-30T20:31:31.159-07:002012-10-30T20:31:31.159-07:00I'm pleased, but surprised, that you're in...I'm pleased, but surprised, that you're in awe of my self-control. Perhaps it's just inertia. Anyway, I AM curious (and not at all yellow) about Paranormal Activity. I did see The Blair Witch Project, because it seemed like such a clever way to make a low-budget film, and it was so brilliantly marketed on the Internet. But the film itself I found quite boring. You may be aware, by the way, that the inevitable Jim Wynorski made his own version. He calls it "The Bare Wench Project." Of course. It will seem less than it did - the familiarity (even all these years later - it would all reawaken in your mind as the opening shot appeared) would make it less of an experience. Some films need to be watched again. Some demand it. Others work well once and never quite as well ever again. But my hat is off to you - AMAZING self control there.

I enjoy both kinds of horror. I appreciate the lofty goals of suspense and psychological horror - and I appreciate a good gross-out. I will recommend one movie - not as a Gold Standard fright flick - but one that might provide some spooky entertainment without buckets of grue - Paranormal Activity. Forget that they turned it into a franchise. Just see the first movie if you're of a mind. (If you do seek it out - beware the mockbuster from The Asylum - Paranormal ENTITY.) I would also recommend The Blair Witch Project. I enjoyed both films quite a bit. Craig Edwardshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06037542638067599437noreply@blogger.com
